Before the training began, there was a feeling of constriction, a slight feeling of fear because there were people I didn’t know well, and the fear of doing something wrong. And at the beginning of the training, in a kind of game, we were able to get to know each other and at the same time learn a little about each other. Each of us was able to express our expectations or concerns about this project - this allowed us to establish that we are here for the same purpose, which influenced the positive atmosphere of our group. During the training, we were able to expand our knowledge and ideas about what a volunteer should know and be able to do. This was a very important point, since not everyone had a clear idea - “Who is a volunteer and what should he do?”

During the training, we were so immersed in the current atmosphere that all any apprehension or fear that was present before the start of the training disappeared.

Although the training took quite a long time, I did not feel tired, but rather some kind of lifting of spirit, a desire for something new.

This training changed my view of volunteer work, which means it was not in vain. After all, each of us was able to learn something very useful for ourselves.

Tatyana and Elena explained to us who a volunteer is

A couple of years ago I was invited as a volunteer to the festival "Neprataptan Way". Then I didn’t really understand what volunteering was and agreed to take part in this festival to find out for sure.

My vision expanded after the first training "I am a volunteer", which took place on September 16, 2010 as part of the project "The art of being yourself". A group of young people gathered who were interested in the possibility of interaction and cooperation with people with disabilities. Subsequently, it turned out that we were all united by one common desire - the desire to help. We talked and showed what a volunteer should know and be able to do in order to serve more effectively. After all, this is really not a simple service, requiring a lot of love and warmth, with which you need to share :)

The training presenters gave us a lot of useful knowledge and practical advice, which we will take into account in our future activities. I learned that there is an etiquette to follow when dealing with people with disabilities. I learned that the game form of pastime is very beneficial and, of course, I got great pleasure from meeting new people who are close to me in spirit :)

When I lose track of time, it means I liked it)

That's how it was then

Everyone should know what they want to get as a result of working on themselves!

I really enjoyed taking part in the last event, on the first day it was very scary, there was a lot of excitement, and when the guys showed up (I took part in the master class) and we met, everything became different, all the worries disappeared and the guys were just wonderful, only good impressions remained. It was very sad when the last day came to an end.... I am very glad that I joined you and THANK YOU SO MUCH

Thank you very much for the fact that there is such an association "The disabled person and the environment". On the first day there was some kind of excitement and experience. I was afraid that the guys wouldn’t like something about us, but it turned out to be just WONDERFUL. We became friends with the guys, exchanged phone numbers, and now we keep in touch. We are looking forward to the next meeting. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

A good game in pairs "Mirror".

Each training is a small life. Where there are both difficulties and joys. This is an opportunity to get to know better those with whom you already communicate, an opportunity to understand each other. These are new meetings and unexpected discoveries. Each training is a unique challenge for the presenters and the participants themselves.

All those present at the first meeting were united by the desire to become a volunteer. And I am sure that many, deciding to come to the training, asked the questions: What does it mean to be a volunteer? What is needed for this besides desire? Can I handle it? Is this really what I want to do?...

And we, as presenters, wanted our first training to help everyone find answers to these difficult questions.

And so: the first embarrassment was over, laughter and smiles filled the audience. The guys reason, argue, express their thoughts about who a volunteer is. Analysis of seemingly very simple games turns into real debates. Every game, if organized correctly, is an opportunity not only to have fun, but also to develop some skills and abilities.

A special atmosphere was created by the appearance of the chairman of the non-profit organization “Invalid and Environment” Ivan Vasilyevich Shmyga and his assistant Inna Rudskaya. Pleasant communication during the coffee break helped the guys get to know each other even better and find many common topics for conversation.

Tired but happy, the newly minted volunteers went home.

The first training for volunteers has now ended.

The first – the most difficult – step has been taken. But I am sure that the most interesting is yet to come.

See you again!
