On November 25-26, 2018, an inclusive “Health Marathon” was held in Pinsk, which included the “Be Healthy” sports relay race, a friendly sitting volleyball match, the “Velopakatushki” bicycle competition and the “Children’s Health Exhibition” for children of school No. 16 and students of a boarding school for children with hearing impairments.
A team of people with disabilities and volunteers from Brest, despite the bad weather, made a fascinating tour of the city of Pinsk. We saw the famous Jesuit Church, the monument to Vera Khoruzhey and the embankment where two rivers – Pripyat and Pina – connect. We express our deep gratitude to the volunteers from Pinsk - Anastasia Prelovskaya, Elena and Vadim Kulai - for this excursion.
In the evening, in the assembly hall of the boarding school at the grand opening of the “Health Marathon,” pediatrician (volunteer from the Pinsk Central Academy of Children’s Sports and Athletes) Ekaterina Derkach interactively introduced the children to the 8 main principles of health. That same evening, a friendly sitting volleyball match took place in the boarding school gym. Everyone played enthusiastically: school students, volunteers and people with disabilities from Brest and Pinsk.
On the second day, a truly inclusive event took place in Pinsk for the first time - the “Be Healthy” sports relay race. Students from school No. 16 and boarding school students took part in the relay race. This sports competition was held in an educational way by the volunteers of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts - the Belyakovich family from Pinsk. And Valentin Boldenko, chairman of the three-age cycling club “RaDeya” from Brest, organized exciting “Bike Rolls”, bicycle competitions in the gym, which took place in parallel with the “Children’s Health Exhibition”.
