At the training, the guys learned about the patterns of communication, why it happens that people do not understand each other, although they communicate in the same language, they learned about the influence of facial expressions, gestures and movements on the processes of people’s perception of each other. In pairs, volunteers improved their listening skills, and also practiced talking about their feelings and thoughts and clarifying whether they understood the other person correctly.

One of the highlights of the training was an experiment with boundary modeling. The guys were convinced from their own experience that they had their own psychological space when other volunteers tried to violate it.

We had the opportunity to discuss the difficulties that arise in communicating with children with special needs, and how to behave correctly in these situations.

The training was attended by guests from the Representative Office of the International Children's Fund and USAID in Minsk, who took an active part in our event.

According to the participants, time flew by. We hope that the experience gained during this training will help volunteers better understand people with special needs, as well as their family and friends, and will help them communicate effectively!
