Virtual Reality — BOOOPI "Disabled Person and Environment"

The first objective of the project:

Most often in critical situations children die and unprotected groups of the population are injured. Children and people with disabilities lack skills in making the right decisions in such life circumstances (fire, gas leak, electric shock, floods, providing first aid to themselves and others). They need to be placed in advance into this problem through a virtual session of a non-standard situation and instructed in the correct course of action for a safe way out of it. Within this project, inclusive session-schools on making the right decisions in non-standard life situations will be held on a large scale throughout the region in specialized schools, boarding schools, disability NGOs and territorial centers for social services. There is a particular need for children with disabilities who are under constant guardianship, due to parental pity and overprotection, after graduating from special boarding schools. This innovative adaptation practice does not yet exist in Belarus.

The second objective of the project:

A participant completes an activity using virtual reality controllers

A participant who uses a wheelchair takes part in a virtual reality session with an instructor

A mentor helps a child put on a virtual reality headset

A child completes a virtual activity while other participants watch

A participant who uses a wheelchair controls a virtual scene with hand controllers

Block 2 of the project "Inclusive School of Traffic Rules". To expand and stimulate equal, barrier-free, positive living in society for young people with disabilities, organize an "Inclusive School of Traffic Rules". For informal training in the basic principles of safe movement around one's place of residence on modern means of transport: electric scooters, bicycles, electric wheelchairs, scooters, tricycles, and all accompanying devices for people with disabilities. Apply the extensive 25-year experience of the three-age cycling club "RaDeYa" and the resources of the "Inclusive Center for the Promotion of Healthy Lifestyle" organized in 2019 with virtual equipment. For these purposes, use a virtual complex with software package "Road Traffic" as close to reality as possible. Within this project, these events will be held on a large scale throughout the region in specialized schools, boarding schools, disability NGOs and territorial centers for social services. Engage cycling club volunteers and center specialists with invitations to representatives of district and regional traffic police services.
