1. People who have mental or physical disabilities since childhood and have been injured are not to blame for this.

2. Due to innocence, you cannot hide people with disabilities and not give them equal opportunities in everything.

3. Society has an obligation to help people with disabilities perform those vital tasks that they cannot perform themselves.

4. Despite the fact that society considers them children, people with disabilities have the right to be adults.

5. These people should not be dependent, remain children more than necessary in order to fully support and provide for them.

6. Therefore, they are obliged to contribute to the development of society to the best of their ability.

7. As a rule, this potential contribution turns out to be more than they themselves and the society around them expect. This applies to all areas of life - in crafts, in art, in intellectual and spiritual development.

8. To make and develop this contribution to the best of their ability, people with disabilities have the legal and moral right to compulsory vocational training support, employment and independent living space.

9. The work of people with mental and physical disabilities should not be “artificial”, in the sense of not being useful to anyone, and should not be separated from the general production of society.

10. Living space should not be a “reservation” and separated from the lives of the people around us, but among all of us, together with us.

11. If independent living in your own apartment is impossible, then it is not advisable to create huge boarding schools where a person loses his individuality, but it is advisable to organize small, more family-based structures where people with mental and physical disabilities live as independently as possible within the limits of their capabilities, and if there is a need for this, with the support of professionals.

12. People with mental and physical disabilities should present themselves as an equal part of society and society, in turn, should be open to this part of the population.

GOAL OF THE DIALOGUE-PODIUM: Search for new forms of integration into society of people with mental and physical disabilities. Solving the problems of integrating disabled people into society from the experience of people who have achieved success in their rehabilitation. Generalization of innovative solutions to non-standard social issues, based on the work of state regional and city structures and Brest and foreign public organizations.

Our discussion is an attempt to bring society closer to people with mental and physical disabilities. It is usually accepted that society itself speaks about people with disabilities and decides everything for them without them. We want to try to discuss these problems with them. Therefore, people with mental and physical disabilities are the first to speak at our dialogue.
